Wild Horses of Fisherhaven

There is a herd of wild horses (some say up to 100) roaming between Kleinmond and Fisherhaven in the Western Cape of South Africa. We came across this group of 10 in the streets of Fisherhaven last weekend. After hanging about with them for almost 2 hours they got very used to us (they’re clearly very used to human interactions) and allowed the girls to stroke them. Yes, I know being wild we should probably let them be, however, it was also as if they were keen to connect with us. So much so that the one fell asleep while Tabi & Jaed stoked his neck. I’m not really a “horsey” person (although my daughters are changing that) however, this was a very touching interaction with these feral and beautiful animals.
