Tuesday, July 26 2016 saw a cut off low system develop off the Southern Coast of South Africa. This storm, close to the coast, generated gale force onshore winds and whipped up 5m swells along the coats and into False Bay. These photos were taken in the afternoon in Kalk Bay. The storm passed quickly and the next morning I was conducting a sunrise photoshoot on the same pier in calm seas and glorious sunshine.
