Lucinda and I recently had the pleasure to stay over and photograph the Bartholomeus Klip guest house and farm outside Hermon. Where is Hermon you might be asking? My only remembrance of Hermon is from the bad old days when conscription was still in force in South Africa. I was relatively lucky in that I was called up tot he navy. On one occasion I needed to “welcome” need recruits to the Navy and they arrived at Hermon station which was the closest railway station to Saldanha Bay (this is where the training base was/is located) on the national grid.
Ok, so that does not give you absolute directions…Bartholomeus Klip is a guest house located on a working sheep and wheat farm just outside of Wellington in the Western Cape – less than 2 hours from Cape Town. If you are looking for some downtime this is a perfect choice. The service of the staff is immaculate – not over the top, not too little, just right. There are game drives around the farm with loads of game to be viewed. The bird life is spectacular and we were blessed to visit while the weavers, sparrows and others were nesting around the farm house.
I can’t speak highly enough about the wonderful, relaxing time we spent with Lesley and her team. Thank you and enjoy the photos.
